Ranger pushed his nose into the loose soil and suddenly began digging. Phyllis rushed forward, ordering Rachel to stop the dog before he destroyed anything else.

That single word stopped Rachel. Phyllis almost never said please. Rachel set the box down and demanded an explanation before anything else happened.

Phyllis finally admitted the container belonged to Frank. She refused to explain further, leaving Rachel with more questions than answers about her late father-in-law.

Twenty minutes later, Daniel arrived and found his mother sitting silently on a wooden bench while Rachel stood beside the dirt-covered metal container.
